"If you are suffering with anxiety, panic, trauma or chronic pain, your next step to being free of these debilitating aspects of your life is to contact me by email chris@tftau.com or telephone (Perth, Western Australia) 08 9389 6839 about ways we can help."
Christopher Semmens uses a multi-modal approach in his practice including evidence-based methods of CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy), REBT (rational emotive behaviour therapy), clinical hypnosis, mindfulness meditation and TFT (thought field therapy) for the rapid, efficient release of emotional distress.
He has great success in dealing with trauma, anxiety, panic and fear through this approach.
Chris would usually investigate the symptoms by looking at underlying, unresolved life issues.
TFT is, usually, very effective in resolving emotional distress associated with underlying issues. The technique involves rating the level of emotional distress associated with the problem on a scale of one to ten. Then a simple tapping sequence is applied to various acupressure points and a second rating of the emotional distress taken. Typically the level of emotional distress associated with the problem goes down from a ten (most distressed) to a two or a one (least distressed) in a short amount of time, usually within minutes. Tapping sequences are applied to each aspect of the problem until the problem is resolved.
In the initial consultation, Chris will ask a number of questions:
Has there been any significant loss in your life?
Has there been any significant trauma in your life?
Has there been any significant disruption in your life?
Is there anything else you think I should know?
From this information Chris works as a good detective would to ascertain what might be contributing to the symptom and uses the approaches mentioned above to facilitate resolution.
He deals with the past traumatic experiences related to the symptom and usually, though not always, this can be significant in the progression of the symptoms.
Once all of this has been covered, he will address future oriented aspects of the problem by treating the fear of future situations.
Country and interstate clients may be assisted through telephone consultations. A combination of in person and telephone consultations may be an approach to consider for those at times not able to attend the consulting room.
Private consultations are usually from fifty minutes to one hour and cost $206.00 which is the Australian Psychological Society recommended fee. Substantial discounts are offered for same day payments.
A substantial discount (down to $185) is available for same day account settlements. Health insurance rebates apply.
You can claim part of this back through private health insurance under item code A070 (clinical psychology) or if you have a referral from your GP under the care plan item number MBS2710, Medicare will rebate $117.05 for each of up to 18 consultations over a twelve month period. (Medicare will not rebate telephone consultations but private health insurance will.)
